I was going to say a pump house, but there is a canal just to the north. As I recall, the road is not gated.

It is the same family Al. I believe Keith Mick is the owner now. They are the same family that has the cranberry bogs across Route 563 on the west side that borders the River. Behind the microwave towers.

I believe they use or used it for family outings. However, I would suspect it really can't be fun there anymore with a million river riders stopping in and the Mick's having to tell them it is private property and to move on.

Unfortuneately Al, some not all but some folks that visit these areas have no respect for private property! They drive or walk right by a posted sign and claim it is state land as their excuse! :argh:

I"m not claiming to be the most repectful person in that regard but I do not tamper with folks personal stuff or buildings.Might pull up on the beach and dump the water and spiders out of the canoe but wouldn't walk up to a posted building and mess with anyones stuff.I won't even take cameras or deer stands on state property even when it is legally okay to do so since they are technically abandoned when left on public property at least thats what the conservation officers told my brother when he went to complain about someone stealing his camera and stand.It was hard for me to be sympathetic since I know he has stolen plenty of his own but I won't do it.I have no use for stands and I wouldn't want my camera stolen if I had one so i refuse to steal anyone elses.Though the places some folks leave them I could almost say they deserve it like in plain sight along a well used sand road.Come on,your asking to lose it.

well state property is our property,or so I thought but all the state property around here has been gated up recently.They have more don'ts on their rule list for my property then I ever had for my kids.

So when people who hurt themselves sue the state they are sueing yourself and the rest of us because you were a clumsy twit so now "NO SWIMMIMG" is another don't because people who can't swim insist in venturing into deep water and some that can't walk insist on running. I was actually allowed to do more as a youngun them I am allowed to do now.
