while searching for info on the NY shawangunk pine barrens (just what I always wanted.my two favorite terrains in one,mountains and barrens) I found this site.thought Y"all might be interested.

Hi Al,
Believe it or not, I already have a link to that site in the links section of my Yahoo group.
The total land area of the Long Island Pine Barrens is roughly one tenth the size of what we have here in Jersey. But apparently it's nearly identical. They even have a Pygmy Pine Plains area like we do! I'd love to visit there sometime, along with the Dwarf Pine Barrens area of the Shawangunks.
