I see on Facebook there is a man stripping and repainting the painted rock on 539. He has a sign there with an email address in the event you have any concerns. The photos show it mostly cleaned so I guess he has not repainted it yet.
Not sure if it has been stripped in recent years but you may remember the feud that occurred in the past where someone was painting it and someone else was again painting it until a compromise was reached and that stopped.
