Palmyra Cove is a great place. I visit there quite often. I think it stinks that the army wants to use it for dredge but they did have it first.

Steve

Steve, i go over to the park once in a while when i am not in the mood for driving too far, i hope the corps knows what they are doing taking the river down to 45 feet, the dredge will contain some nasty stuff, DDT being on of them, they were going to dredge up a creek in my neigborhood but after a study was done it was decided to leave it be, DDT they say was better off being left undisturbed.

Did you ever walk the train bridge from Delair to Phila?, i used to walk it from Phila in the early 60's with my friends to go to the mouth of Pennsauken Creek, great carp fishing.

Yep sure did. That bridge was in my hood, sort of. I spent a lot of time down on those tracks. Hopped many a train there too. A few times I saw the circus train on those tracks and once we found a box car with the door open and it was loaded with Nestle's Quik. Needless to say their shipment ended up a little short. Ahhhh...good times. This was all in the 60's too. Maybe we crossed paths.

Now you really have me thinking, we use to hook up with a few people from your side of the river, real cool dudes, partied well, what i can recall was real friendly same interest sharing individuals, i wonder if fate is kicking in here.

I am going to attempt to go to the eureka gun club site tomorrow, and to black's bridge via the road below webb's mill off of rt.539,i would like to find black's stone also and go to aserdaten, but i will do that in the winter, the ticks ripped us a new one last weekend, even with the deep woods off on, i have some permithrin on the way from camp-mor, but it has not arrived yet. This will only be a driving tour.

I then have to go to tuckerton for some business with my old marina owner.

But if you are interested and have some free time, as you know from my previous posts, i and my friend will be stopping in the magnolia road tavern on the way home for a couple of cold ones, chat with Autumn about the day's outing, and some piney talk with the owners, Autumn wasn't there last weekend as she went with her husband to a wxtu show.

The owner's daughter was tending bar last weekend and the third one was on the house, the beer was ice cold, :guinness:and only 2.50 a bottle, so if you have time stop on by. Will be there between 5 and 6 p.m. Haven't seen a free one given out in quite a while. Autumn through a pm said it was the owners appreciation toward us, we were again the only ones in there. She is real good people, matter of fact everyone we met in there so far are real good people.

The area on the east side of rt.539 except for the frm' s was one of the few areas i have never explored back in the late 70's and early 80's including the current, like i said i want to explore in depth out there this coming winter. Who knows, we probably crossed paths quite a few times in the pine barrens also.

Thanks Jim

You may want to lay off of Black's Stone until the ticks are down. Speaking of ticks, have you heard the new country & western song called "Ticks". Pretty funny. I don't know the artist's name.
I'll have to pass on the Magnolia, I won't be in that area that time of day.

The artist is Brad Paisley, got to hear this one. Interesting at the bottom page of this site it talks about tick remedies. I wonder if he also has a song about chiggers on the album.

I sent the article to a friend of mine, and here are his thoughts.

"What a typical disgrace. That is so frustrating when you think about it. It may not happen in our lifetime but eventually everything that's worthwhile in this country will be gone, strictly due to corporations needing more."

Greed, revenue, greed, revenue. What a shame.
