Parker Preserve in February

Hello - I'm new to the forums here, although not new to the pines

I took a very enjoyable walk through the preserve over the weekend with a new camera. Cool temperatures but very sunny and pleasant out; saw plenty of fellow hikers. Just thought I would share some of the better shots I got - I'm sure these are very familiar locations to you. Cheers.

Thank you for the words of welcome, everyone! This is such an interesting forum to read through; it's been here so many years and I'm not sure how I never came across it before. I also never came across Boyd's Maps which is incredible.

What are you shooting with?

These are all with a Sony A7IV and a Sigma Art 24-70 lens - I'm really loving this camera. Getting back into photography in general after quite a few years has been great! The pines are absolutely one of my favorite subjects. I really enjoy landscapes, wildlife, and all kinds of nature photography.

I just bought a long telephoto lens this week; I'm very eager to test that out, especially with birds. I may trek out to Wildlife Drive at Forsythe this weekend. So far the forecast looks good - if I do, and I get some worthwhile shots, I'll be sure to post

As it happens, I stopped back in the preserve yet again this weekend on the way back from Forsythe, in time for sunset and some more great lighting. I got some nice photos out there and it was a good test of the new lens, but I think these are better.

(Yes, I took a photo of the same tree twice - there's just something appealing about it...)

Awesome shots! I was at Forsythe this weekend as well and did the same, stopped at FPP in the way back.
