Penn State Forest

After Sunday's lunch at Lake Oswego, then a visit to the CCC camp & eventually over to Bear Swamp Hill & a hike out to the landing gear, I decided to try to find some info on Penn S.F. & the Camp. I found this interesting;

This camp is;
Project # S-60 (federally issued project #)
Federal Company # 1284-C ("C" denotes "colored" company members)
Date; 10/30/1933 (the date the company occupied the camp)
Chatsworth (The closest town to the camp that had a R.R. stop)
Chatsworth (The closest town to the camp that had a Post Office)
Penn State Forest 13 mi S (Distance from R.R. Stop)

I remember some ying twad had cut a chunk of rubber out of the tire on the landing gear for a souvenier no doubt.Is there any rubber left on the tire now?

The tire is still there, but yes there is an obvious chunk missing.
