Well, it really seems strange that our very own bobpbx spoke at the Pinelands Commission Meeting last week on this very subject along with Russ, and no offense to anyone but the article makes it seem that Russ is the one who noticed this problem in Ocean County. However, you and I know better. Why is he not mentioned?

Quite alright Guy. I take no offense. But thanks for looking out for me. That was a decision by the writer. It is always practice to take statements from people who belong to organizations over citizens not holding positions. Look at Jeff Tittle from the Sierra Club. They seek that guy out way too much for comment, and he's more than happy to spout something out on any subject with just a moment's notice. Makes him seem like a know-it-all. I'd hate to be thought of that way. Russ is a good friend of mine, and the best advocate there is for Pine Barren plants.

While I appreciate the efforts of nj biologists, land conserv. org., pinelands commission, etc. I do find it quite amusing when others take credit from more behind the scenes volunteer types. I can think of a dozen or so things that I've done that others have taken the credit for......amusing.......but I think people like Bob do this stuff and aren't expecting a pat on the back...though it is annoying sometimes.

Well said Dragon! I can tell you that without a doubt Bob did it for the best interest of the plants and the environment.

The Dover Forge Road stretch is a mess, the raking made it worse. I noticed it and wrote to the county and PPA about it, the only response I got was from the PPA, a copy of the letter they sent to the county detailing the compromise they worked out, I think I posted it here. The plants there are gone forever. The govt agencies just give it lip service. Does anyone know what part the NPS and Dept of the Interior play in the Pinelands?
