Pigs.....

Wow i had a black pig run out infront of my car a few weeks ago, and noone believed me hahahah, looks like they may have come to salem county also.:ham:
 
That's bad. They are very destructive and will probably outcompete several species. They are a real problem in more southern climates like Texas. Not a surprise that they are around. Pigs are very adaptable, kinda like people. They will probably be successful in NJ unless aggressively controlled.
 
I'm not so sure I agree with the assertion in the article that using hunters to reduce or eliminate the population is a bad idea. Anytime I hear "We are from the government and are here to help" I get nervous. And that's coming from a government worker! :bang:
 
My wife (then girlfriend) and I saw a wild pig cross 563 in 1994/95. We were just looking at each other afterwards like "did you see that too?"

It was dark and bristlely. I think it was a sow and a few piglets. They made it across the road very quickly.
