Pileated Woodpecker

i saw the red patch and always thought they might be pileated but now i know. i will definantly look for them this year. i spend like 30 days sitting in the pine barrens every year. its the most peaceful time and i look foward to it.

Saw a pileated today down in woodstown, not the pines but close. I was golfing and he was hammering away on a tree for a good two hours. First one of I've seen in new jersey.
