Came across a large one this afternoon down by Tuckerton. Had to be close to 6 feet long. Got a good little video of him hissing at me, but can't post it. He also buzzed his tail. It did throw me off a second!
Pine snakes take to the defense rather quickly when you come up from behind on them. I see this example is demonstrating the classic defense posture of hissing and squaring up.
The bigger they are, the more likely they are to look right at you, if you know what I mean!
