It was suggested that a thread should be started to showcase the old cars found in the pines. This is not my first but it is the one that surprised me the most.



On November 8 2014 I was looking for property corners in Lebanon and we came upon an old truck long covered over from many years of vegetation. I was seriously surprised it was there. I can pretty much tell you I suspect it has been there at least 70 years and most likely a few more at least.

It appears someone either tried taking parts or was repairing it and gave up.

Here is a mopar I came across at the very edge of one of the lakes in former NJ Silica Sand Co property (now nature conservancy). It has since been removed in the last few months. Pretty sure it is a Plymouth Valiant I would guess early 70s

I barely recall this one. I think it was that day we found a bunch of stuff like this in the woods at the SE corner of 539 and 72.

And this one was from the Pine Plains west of 539 and NE of that sand plant situated NNW of Warren Grove. I think this was an old fire wagon?

I think I found an old international back there. I think I showed it to you. I tried to re-find it with Monica, but was unsuccessful.

Hey Bob, remember that old tire we found we were bushwhacking out off of Route 70? How was showing you where I saw that huge snapping turtle. We were bushwhacking back and we found a tire that we guessed was from the 1920s.

Yes, I do recall that. I was really eager to see that turtle.

I don't exactly remember where or when, but it was somewhere around 2007, I believe.

"Car 54, Where are you." I found this car in Noember 2013 in Greenwood Forest WMA, just south of Cooks Rd, before it crosses the Oswego River. Since then, it has been renoved.

I found it on 10/25/2003 while looking for Lawrence Line stones.
