Just processed six years of precipitation data (all the historical data they have) from the NWS to use on my new Pines site. It will update continuously as you move around the map, like the other data.

Made this map of totals, just for fun. They're cumulative, so you'd need to divide by 6 to get the yearly average. It's pretty low resolution data - a grid of 4km squares - but it was the best I could find and is still interesting IMO.

Makes me wonder what devilish fiend is messing with this area. This is fairly close to that army facility just west of Whiting with the tower.

I find that very interesting as well. Of course, this is only six years worth of data, so it's hard to draw any conclusions. But here are a couple overlays that might be of interest. And it's not just the area you have circled. Less obvious, but there's a magenta area (very heavy precip) immediately Southeast of it.

Here’s a short article about the “Cape May Bubble”. Your map shows it pretty clearly.
