Thanks. Can you narrow this location down because I am uncertain where you mean?

The 610 was confusing me. Now I know where you mean. That was a 1963 Ford.

It would be interesting to know who they are transferring it to. I would assume nothing could be built there such as a park. I wonder if the property survey would be available?

From similar old listings on the state site, it appears the land is transferred from the Conservancy to the state. Perhaps to be part of Stafford Forge WMA? Map below.

This is the spot they currently own there. Click on 'plan your visit'> 'view all'

I'll say the cloth sign is new. We went right by its location yesterday on leaving the Cedear Bridge Tavern re-enactment and it wasn't there then.....

Here is the property. There may be more added to it but this is where 46er is referring. I had to rush the map so sorry for the quality.

On that property is stone #14 of the Lawrence Line. I will check into this to see if the state is planning on doing anything with the piece. It will be Green Acres so I suspect nothing is going to happen but you never know.

In looking at the link that is not the only parcel that is going to be transferred. There is also ground in the Oswego area that is going to be transferred if this goes through as well.

Thanks for the map Guy. I had heard about this transfer but did not know the extent of the tract.

It's nice to see these many smaller pieces of land such as this one and various land trust properties being acquired and protected. Every acre helps. I'm sometimes alarmed that schools seem to be cranking out a new generation of environmentalists who are more obsessed with teaching kids how to make crafts from used toilet paper tubes and plastic newspaper sleeves than with actually saving parts of the environment from destruction.
