I have travaled from atsion to chatsworth along the tracks when I was in High school, camped along the way and along the side of chatsworth lake.
was on a 12 speed bike.. skinny tires and all...

As much as I like hiking old rail beds myself, I also prefer a bike for the longer distances. I use my mountain bike for quite a bit of my exploring of the pine barrens. I can cover more ground with my truck, but I miss too many details along the way, and I feel less "in touch" with my surroundings. Walking is my fist choice, but you cover much less ground. A bike is often a nice compromise.

What year would that have been? Chatsworth lake and the surrounding area was a favorite camping area for me and my brothers. we had many fishing trips where we camped on the lake.
