Thank you for the images. Two of my favorite subjects to paint are shadows and reflections.....the pines leave me with an neverending supply. Your work is inspiring.
I have been close to that location but not quite. The 1995 aerials shows it has been logged quite a bit with many old grown over roads in the swamp. A nice place for you to photograph and get the dogs tired

Another interesting feature of that area is the topography. There is a ten meter elevation difference between the road and the stream where I marked it.
I have read several references to aerials from '31 to '95. Is there a link or resource for these?
If you start at NJPB Live Maps at the top banner of this site, you should be able to compare from 31 to 2002.
I have been to that stream where you were. You are right about the elevation. That is a steep incline, and a nice clear stream. I think its the Mill Creek.
Revisiting the bog on a nice day today. Spring is trying hard. Still not there yet though. Sort of a self portrait included.
