I have the agonizing pleasure of dealing with the Commission on a fairly regular basis while working on behalf of developers. (Sorry, boys and girls)
I can say first hand that the Commission has NOT become more relaxed with enforcing any of their land development standards.
The second part of the first sentence in their mission statement is really what they spend most of their time doing, in my opinion. (see below)

I think they do a pretty good job of managing a massive, multi-faceted resource and as I said, it ain't gettin' any easier on the developer's end.
I think the PPA would like to see them spend more time on land acquisition and preservation but I don't think NJ currently has the resources to make that happen in the immediate future.
