This tent was set up at atsion church on saturday. it was set up with a couple of benches/something to drink,thought that was nice especially if you just finished a hot hike

Starting this week, they can add fly-bitten to the weary and burdened. 
The tent would provide good respite and would give one time to ponder God's true purpose with respect to the creation of deer flies.

Very thoughtful; might have been even more so without the donation canisters on the table. Just sayin'

Oh Ye of little faith ! They could very well be citronella candles or butt buckets. Or for me, a spittoon would be a nice amenity.

Of course, a spittoon!!! How silly of me. A little tobaccy juice to keep the flies away. The Lord moves in mysterious ways.
It's a pretty good woman repellant too. Just ask my wife !
I used this stuff in Maine when I was a kid. It made you smell like a heavily creosoted telephone pole. I think it actually worked too.Nothing compared to some of the black fly concoctions I've slathered on or consumed

Chug enough of this and you won't care about the bites, until you wake up or sip apple cider vinegar several times a day, eat a clove of garlic a day(start each of these a few days before you hit the woods), or rub the inside of pine branch bark all over your exposed skin. Maine is a wonderful state, during the colder months

Yes after you brush the black ants off of them.They seem to like the fresh tendrils as well.At least Smilax is good for trail nibbles on a hot Memorial Day Weekend
