What a nice Saturday out and about. As before, the trail was flooded in about 5 places and required some off trail wanderings. What impressed me perhaps the most is the height of the Atlantic and White Cedar. They are the tallest of the Pines I think. I sat in the second Cedar swamp and listened to the trees creek out a song to me. It has an etheral quality. Saw one struck by lightening as well. Half of the tree was living, and I think will continue to live considering the way it was still rooted in the ground.
Well, as a few people have already stated, there are definitely eagles out and about. I saw three. Wouldn't you know it, the first day I haven't brought a camera with me eagles are circling over head. Oh well, at least I know where to look. Took about eight miles to meander through the East Creek Trail. I would reccommend it for anybody to check out.
