Nice! I wonder why they come up? Does it bother them or somehow attract them?

That's how I always got them if I couldn't get any at night. I think the vibrations do the trick. Noticed a lot of worm droppings on the grass when I was raking this morning :) Trout season isn't far away.

Never heard of "rooping worms"! Much like Beck's observations of "fyking snapper" (hope I spelled that correctly) on the Mullica in the 30s and 40s. Folks like these seem to have their finger on the pulse of the local environs...make ingenius use of it and respect it all in the same manner. I wanna go out and give this rooping a try. I put the worms in my compost/tomato buckets in the spring. It'll save me digging behind the garage. Thanks.
