206 has reopened as of 0530.
This fire was fairly close to us and with that wind last night, I was a little worried. We had to shut our windows at around 8:00 last night as the smoke was getting stronger. Outside this morning the yard smells like a wet campfire.

I saw the fire as I headed down Rt. 206, and a helicopter landing at the Atsion Ranger Station, along with a bunch of troopers. There was a lot of smoke west of Atsion Lake and as I turned onto Railroad Ave I was thinking I might be making a mistake. When I came out an hour later I had to run a blockade to get back onto Rt. 206 north, and the fire looked to be right at Rt. 206, south of the lake.

I really wish there was an accurate, interactive "fire history" map created that would be updated as soon as a fire was declared extinguished. It's always interesting to see what plants pop up after the fire.

Apparently there was a fire on Wednesday also in Mordecai?

The fire in the above photo has to be somewhere near the plastic bridge unless it is further as mentioned above near Atco.

The fire burnt south of Rairitan Ave at Sandy Causeway. With all the backfires it sounds like it goes to parkwood and out to 206. Didn't look particularly hot on 206

Finally toured the area yesterday. Looks like lots of firefighting equipment was up and down Sandy Causeway, as it's freshly bulldozed with track marks still visible. Doesn't look like any fire jumped across to the west or below Sleeper Branch. The lady at Angie's Diner said it came right up to the road, but that may have been a controlled burn done by the FFS.
