Hi all,

I'm a brand newbie here and I am so glad to have found this site, this place is great, the wealth of knowledge in here is really astonishing, great work!

I've been wondering the pines for a few years now searching for whatever I could find and I have so many questions about the who, what, where (well, not exactly where :ninja:), and when of what I've seen.

I figured I'd start off with what is probably an obvious and easy one for most of you, so just redirect me if you've already discussed it to death.

Are there any specifics or info on the ruins across the river from Hampton Furnace?

Thanks!

Thanks, I also found some other related threads that said the same, that they were part of a cranberry operation.

The remains of the well there makes a nice home for snakes.

Wow, those are great pics, very enlightening, thanks.

But now I'm actually a little confused, so the large structure that I (naively) believed was Hampton Furnace actually came much later and was a cranberry warehouse? Is the location of the actual furnace known?

Edit: Nevermind found the thread were you guys already explained this to someone else, thanks again!

Guy, I love them before an after shots you have done

Glad you like them Dave. I have more to come sometime in the future. I just need to get a scanner of my own that scans slides. I borrow my friends all the time and still have many slides to digitize that will make good Then And Now photo's.

I enjoyed them very much too. Even as a child, before I was interested in history, the local newspaper published a weekly "then and now" series that captivated my attention.
