Didn't she used to host Pop Eye Theatre. I met her once ain Philadelphia when I was a kid.

Sorry to hear this. The kids and I would sometimes stop for ice cream at her shop on Jackson Rd. Her pizza shop was also a victim of fire a few years back.

Spottted a couple other Philly legends in the video, Chief Halftown and Captain Noah. Sherman really set the "way-back" machine on this one!

It looks like the Captain wins the race. Looks like he still dresses the part too. I wasn't a fan of the Captain, too lethargic for me and my cyclonic personality.
I loved Sally Star and watched Chief Halftown every week.

Funeral for Sally Starr open to the public

Services will be held at the Costantino Funeral Home at 231 West White Horse Pike in Berlin, New Jersey.


The viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 4th. The funeral will start at 8:00 p.m. Sally Starr's burial will be held on Tuesday in a private service for family only.
