Hello everyone, I haven't posted in a while, but I came across an item some here may find of interest. While researching some genealogy of the Jones/Howell families I came across a book published in 1898 with a photo of Samuel Howell, Jr. in it. Samuel was a part owner of the Mount Misery Saw Mill and Hanover Tract, later known as Hanover Furnace. He was also a patriot involved in the many fatigues of this fledgling nation.

I posted the picture in my gallery: http://gallery.njpinebarrens.com/showphoto.php/photo/9291

I wonder what the relation was between Samuel Howell and Benjamin Howell. I had always assumed it was Benjamin Howell that was involved with Hanover.

Are you referring to Benjamin Howell of the Howell Ironworks? If so, in all of my research I haven't ever come across a connection between Benjamin Howell and the Hanover Furnace. I suspect that Benjamin and Samuel were cousins, but I need to comb through the genealogies and do some more research to see if this Benjamin is one of the Benjamins that was related.

Yeah, I was wondering if they were cousins or brothers.
