This snake died a tragic death at Woodmansie.

This Timber as well as a companion is doing quite well. I suspect both are females. Only Jessica saw the first one which took off really fast. This one gave me a little time to get my camera but quickly became scared. It looked like it was going to rattle but then retreated.

We visited the burned area by Oswego Lake to look for the Haines property corners and mostly struck out. However, we did find this unique one.

It is ever so barely hanging on. One gust of wind and it is lost. I suspect if the others are like this one that is the reason I did not find them.

This is why it is so unique. I have never found a pipe with a cap that includes the letters NJ.

And Jessica found this baby. This afternoon my daughters and I were at Hobby Lobby and I saw some old pails for sale, and this find is better looking than they were.

I have to assume so. I will continue to watch all summer.
