Found another one, this one was water powered, I am sure it is Godfreys, located 3 property stones also.

i think this is the Godfrey's sawmill that wolfspider is referring to. Made up of sandstone

As for your question there are 3 holes around the sawmill. There is one hole, which is from the sawmill, and the other 2 are about 5-10 yards away from the sawmill.

That is pretty normal and I suspected they would be there. That is a very nice find! Now the harder part may be finding the stones.

There is one near Carranza that looks like that.

Then it should not be called Godfrey Estlow's sawmill because he was not even born in 1836. It may have been Christopher Estlow's sawmill who was his dad and then he took it over.

There is a record of a Godfrey who was around in 1830 but I am not sure it was the same family. Have you researched this??

It was on a map created in 1836. It shows Godfrey Estlow's ownership of land and the sawmill's location.
Didn't Godfrey die on October 14, 1836? And was buried October 16, 1836?

Wow i am reading into this alot and it does seem pretty confusing. If that was his father it would all make sense.

It also refers to him being the same Godfrey who is mentioned in the Martha furnace diaries a few times. Let me know what you come up with!

We have to be careful with the info on that site. I know someone who has written the man who placed that info on that site and questioned some of it. But I suspect Godfrey was the dad of Christopher and the grandfather of Godfrey.

That would make sense because this Godfrey had the sawmill before and during 1836, and passed away in October of 1836. Interesting
