Was on Rt 49 a little after 10:30 this morning and traffic was already bumper to bumper Northbound all the way from Cumberland Pond up to Rt 55. Lots of unhappy looking people with no front license plates. Sure glad that I was heading South….

I used to have a white sonoma pickup when I was 29 to about 37.I had big black letters on the back "SHOOBIE GO HOME" had a few birds flicked at me but got a lot more honks and waves.Since then I have made a good Shoobie friend and when I traded vehicles I never replaced the sign.He asked me one day,yo Dude what the hell is a shoobie.I told him,you are
then explained to him how they make life miserable for the rest of us,for me it's 55 and 47,for Boyd it's 50 but you can't get away from em or go any friggin where on the weekends for the traffic.My brother in law put up a sign telling them to go home in his yard on 47 in Delmont.The TWP made him take it down.I'd of took em to court,it was his friggin yard but he being a prison guard took it down.I have now learned how t combat the shoobies.When they come here head to the Pa mountains.Their empty because they are here.I become a shoobie which I had some locals up there see my tailgate and informed me I was now the shoobie,they must have been to jersey too.

See, this is why I have mixed feelings about the plan to extend Rt 55. Really, I am against it because it would cut through a lot of nice places. But it might keep the shore traffic off the local roads at least. I'm sure they will never be able to build that road because of the environmental issues though.
It just gets frustrating sometimes. I wouldn't put any "shoobie go home" signs on my car though. I worked in Philadephia for 18 years. Those people will shoot you over a parking space.

'Tis the season, although it might be a good summer for us after the bennies had their first weekend to experience with post-Sandy road construction 
Maybe they'll head further south and join forces with their shoobie counterparts and become ShooBennies
