Small game season opener this Saturday

Squirrel and rabbit has been open since September 28 Guy and bow for deer has been open for about the same period of time. Years ago, all small game seasons opened in November.
This Saturday is the opening of pheasant, quail, woodcock and grouse.
Pheasant and quail hunting (pen raised birds) takes place almost exclusively on the stocked WMA's. Sadly, quail are now only able to be hunted at Peaslee and Greenwood WMA's.
It is nearly as comical and chaotic as six day firearm for deer.
This a classic from the Colliers Mills WMA. A father and son got shot twice in the same day. The second time was while they were making a report to the Conservation Officer. The CO also took a shot as well.
