Small game season opens

When I was a kid I used to love opening day of small game. My grandma would buy me my pheasant stamp and a box of 12 ga. #6 shot for my birthday in November. I would be up at Colliers Mill WMA at 6 am waiting for the 8 am start. I didn't hunt extended bow at the time. I Went to Manahawkin WMA once but had no luck. You need flack jacket at the Mill now days from what I hear.

Just have to pick your day and time. I never really cared for Colliers. If I head up that way I prefer going a little further and head to Assunpink.
Rabbit was always the traditional target for me on the small game opener when I was a kid.
This year rabbit opened on September 26 !!??
I have friends with dogs and we generally don't go out till January when we wind down on deer hunting.
