All,
We headed out early as usual, and our first stop was to visit "Bridge 74". That is the bridge on the JCRR near Chatsworth that traverses the river that flows out of Union lake. It was destroyed in 1939 by water just hours after the Blue Comet accident.
Apparently, DeMarco or possibly the state blocked the tracks with welded steel to keep vehicles from traveling down the tracks.

A short distance away is bridge 74 which is completely intact.

Examining the area it is interesting to note that it appears that the original cedar posts are still visible, and there is still evidence of an unusual "cement" or stone ground support for the headwall to the bridge. It looks like bags of cement but it appears to be some sort of stone, but I am not certain. I am leaning toward stone of some sort.

We then traveled to the Pine Crest area, and while driving down a remote road we almost ran over a pine snake. I was waiting for Bobbleton to pop out of the woods if I had hit it. I should have attempted to catch it because it quickly headed into the brush while I was trying to get some quick photo's.

We then continued up the road, but had to return the same way because of flooding. At the exact spot we saw the snake, there was a turtle in the road. The exact spot!

For the next half hour we attempted to access the area I was heading towards, but had to abandon that idea because of water. We then headed to the tracks on Chew road and struck out, so we headed home.
