All,

The site seems a little slow so here are a few things on my mind. Without going into detail, I learned recently that Wescoat Bogs is still in private hands. I had known that it had been and now I know it still is.

Also, I have been working on the Friendship Bogs tract for years and except for a few locations I have pretty much found all of the stones and monuments. This weekend I added another to the list. This one for some reason has eluded me for quite some time.

And I have finally found one of the corners for the Pine Crest Gun Club. It is a steel rod in the ground with a plastic cap. They are extremely hard to find and this one should help me find the others and the final monuments for Friendship Bogs.

And Jessica and I found a nice savanna while doing some research.

I forgot to mention that this diamond shaped piece of property inside of Friendship Bogs is also in private hands. It was called the Kasper Exception and other names. You can switch to topo and see it somewhat better.

I hike and drive by that tract frequently, I've even tried the road into it and it wasn't inviting. I didn't know it was private and there wasn't any indication of it being so. It doesn't look used, it is low and in the old areials it seems to have been farmed. I don't know why someone would pay taxes on it.

Ed,

There is even a small lot just SW of Wescoat Bogs in the Great Swamp that is private.

I don't know. I will try to eventually find that out.

With very poor access to it I doubt anything will occur. I don't think the state will help them or allow them to fix the roads. I hope I am right.
