Space Station

Did anyone see the space station fly across the sky tonight? At 8:14 Jessica was reading online that it would pass by at 8:14 so we ran to the door and saw it. Years ago I watched the space shuttle fly over where I worked on a cold winter morning with a few others.

If you go out into the East Plains early in the morning you can track satellites and spacecraft easily. They can be seen with the naked eye. I saw the space shuttle pass overhead years ago.

If I happen to be out in the area, these are the two sources I use for the ISS. I don't know of a source to track satellites, they have appeared at random.

Yes, I saw it. I am on an email list from NASA and they tell me everytime it is going over the Barnegat area. It has been over most nights of the past week. I have been on this list for a over a year and my wife and I are always facinated by the flyover. As you know this thing books, it doesn't take long to pass you by. You must be ready for it. Go to their site and sign up, just follow the instructions.

I figured I would let everyone know that again tonight you will be able to see the space station cross over if the clouds are gone.

I'll be getting down out of my tree at about that time. Maybe I will hang in a few extra minutes if it's clear.

When it says 4 minutes the station goes almost right overhead. Sometimes it is 6 minutes which is directly overhead. When it is 2 minutes it is much harder to catch if trees or buildings are close by. So you will get a good view. I watch for it every time it goes over which sometimes is three times a week. Then we may go quite a while without seeing it.

Sorry to hear that. I forgot about it even after adding an alarm to my computer to remind me. I must have put in the wrong time

I will post again when it occurs. Many times it is in the morning around the time you most likely are going to work.
