Or at least some critters think so.
We had a picnic at Parker Bald Eagle Reservoir today. I was eating my sandwich and what did I see but a tick walking over my hand.

Fairly suprising a kingsnake would be up today. Not rare for snakes to come in and out of hibernation but today wasn't overly warm and kingsnakes aren't usually one to come up so quick. Pretty interesting.

I have seen Kingsnakes out basking in the winter sun when I was in Parker. I have also come across Garter snakes. Both species where sitting on the side of the dikes soaking up what little heat the low Sun had to offer. I can remember ice being on the ground in the shadows.
