I put a top coat on my deck today. It is so perfect a day for drying stain that after I did one board I could not tell where I should begin on the other end. It is drying in 5 minutes.
Reminds me, back in the 70's you could not get all the fancy colors you have today. For Yellow we had to squish young acorns in a bucket of cedar water and add a touch of pine sap. For Green we had to catch those shiny beetles you see on the white sand paths and take their wings off. You get a nice shimmery green from a pound of these mixed well with the skin of a few green frogs in a gallon of water. For Red nothing would do but the scrapings from the top of an iron ore bog mixed with a little juice from three pounds of cranberries. For blue, it was essential to squish 12 pints of blueberries in a couple gallons of diesel fuel and add a dash of olive oil. White was essentially unavailable.
