Swamp walk at sunset

I had mentioned in a previous post that one of my favorite times to be in the woods was at sunset. This past sunday I went to a favorite spot, a swamp I've hunted with my son. Sometimes it's dry, this year it has a fair amount of water.

An old stand. This is near where I left my son to hunt alone for the first time.





It's a bit of a bushwhack to get there, so I never see anyone. It was a great place to watch the sunset.

Swamps have a particular beauty, don't they? I like #4 best for the sense it gives of quiet woods and shining water. Thank you!

Swamp walk in the snow

I went back out to the swamp this evening and took some more pictures with the swamp frozen and snow covered.







Again, a nice place to watch the woods grow dark.
