I hear mixed info on the Sweetwater Casino. Can someone please verify if they have reopened. I'd appreciate it, as I'll be in the area and would like to stop in if possible. Thanks in advance.

Last I knew was that a tiki bar was open on weekends during the summer. We stopped by once and it was pretty busy- I don't know how long that lasted, though. My husband wanted to inquire about live music opportunities, but the only place that would have worked was too far away from the bar for a low-key acoustic thang. I believe at some point early on in the season they may have had a band there.
I still have hope that something will come of it. It's a shame. All we ever heard were rumors.

I know they had a bad fire a while back. I've since heard they have an outdoor setup on the weekends during warm weather months, but its all word of mouth and Im not quite sure of the specifics.
The Sweetwater Casino caught fire and burned out on June 30, 2008. The owners wanted to rebuild and reopen ASAP, but apparently there was some sort of insurance claim issues.

They did however open the Tiki bar this year. The place is a still a big motorcycle destination. Made a trip down earlier in the summer. It was nice, but sad at the same time. Had fond memories of the old Casino.
