Last evening when Ro & I went down to flag one of our new test sites, we saw three small white terns hunting over the first bog south of North Gate. They were there for over a half hour. I can't remember seeing terns over fresh water in the Pines before. No binoculars with us so species unknown; they appeard all-white, too far for bill color, etc. Comments?

Quite common on the inland lakes and reservoirs, along with gulls and shorebirds, especially during migration times. I'd guess a Common or Forsters.
