Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA)
----------------------------------------------------------

WASHINGTON, DC - Congress is considering sweeping legislation, which
provides new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No
Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislation by
advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or
ambition.

"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and
drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in
society," said Barbara Boxer. "We can no longer stand by and allow
People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this
legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special
favors to a small group of workers, simply because they do a better
job, or have some idea of what they are doing."

The President pointed to the success of the US Postal Service, which
has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to
performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack job
skills, making this agency the single largest US employer of Persons
of Inability.

Private sector industries with good records of nondiscrimination
against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the airline industry
(68%),and home improvement "warehouse" stores (65%) The DMV also has
a great record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25
million "middle man" positions will be created, with important-
sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an
illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given,
to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable
employees.

The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations which
maintain a significant level of Persons of Inability in middle
positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium businesses
that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNA ACT contains tough new measures to make it more
difficult to discriminate against the Non-abled, banning
discriminatory interview questions such as "Do you have any goals
for the future?" or "Do you have any skills or experience which
relate to this job?"

"As a Non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people
who have something going for them," said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her
position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint, MI due to
her lack of notable job skills. "This new law should really help
people like me." With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions
of other untalented citizens can finally see a light at the end of
the tunnel.

Said Senator Ted Kennedy, "It is our duty as lawmakers to provide
each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her adequacy,
with some sort of space to take up in this great nation."

This will make it even easier for the "boneheads," crooks and "hype artists" to run our government at the local, State and national levels.:jeffd:

N.J.'s Do--Nuttin' A.G.

Zulima V. Farber, Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, says she did not intercede in boyfriend's traffic stop...

http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/news/newjersey/story/6486836p-6338726c.html

When her live--in boyfriend called her, she only drove to the scene in her taxpayer--paid, official car with the much--prized "SG" (State Government) license plates... Hoo, HAH!! The story gets interesting!

"Some things are said without words being spoken, and it was pretty clear to the officer what was directed to him," ...

Will Farber be censured, lose her job, etc.? Not likely.:jeffd:

What about the cop(s)? Wanna bet they don't get "reassigned" to:

1. Watching the paint dry on a bridge somewhere, :Dor
2. Counting the number of chickens that cross Route 202, near the Alpine House, in Hamburg, New Jersey:D

Another fine example of your governmint :jd: "inaction":jeffd:

The Cost per Vote...

It makes you wonder why some people will spend "big bucks" to get a relatively low--paying job...

http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/news/story/6489961p-6341787c.html

"Perillo easily won election in May over three competitors. In doing so, he spent a city-record $120,301,..." Yes, over $70,000 of which was submitted by his "loyal" contributors (the real estate carpetbaggers, members of the building industry, and the insurance salesmen) during the last three days of the election --- too late for reports to be published prior to the day of the election.

The election cost his "backers" $36.00 per vote: a small price to pay for the continued unchecked overdevelopment of Ocean City.

Although it was known that Perillo's signage was transported and placed by members of the building industry, Perillo maintained that he was against overdevelopment, and would enact new zoning laws to curb the abuses of the current administration.

Perillo represented interests that would erect a 10--story hotel building and retail shop complex on part of the busiest sections of the Ocean City bordwalk. :bang:

His campaign cost $50,000 more than that of his nearest contender. In short: He "bought" himself his office. Now he maintains that he will only be present at town council meetings, when he has, "...something to say." [/I]...a part time mayor at full price! :jeffd:

"Ms. Humphrey," or "Political Connectedness"

Why not "appoint" the bear to be in charge of the bee hives? I wonder why?

This is what "connexions" can get you, unless someone is watching the store!

Nice try! :jeffd:

Zulima's "Traffik Problemz"

More on the "Zulima's" travails with the law...

http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/news/newjersey/story/6500170p-6351769c.html

It looks like she and her "boifriend," Hamlet Goore, are scofflaws...

"Over the Memorial Day weekend, police in Bergen County set up a roadblock to check if drivers were wearing seat belts. Farber's boyfriend, Hamlet E. Goore, 65, was stopped and cited by police for driving with a suspended driver's license and for letting his van's vehicle registration expire. Police called for a tow truck to impound the van. Goore called Farber on a cell phone.

Soon Farber arrived, driven by a state trooper in an unmarked state vehicle with emergency lights flashing. Before long, police allowed Goore to drive his van home with Farber following him in the state vehicle. And the officer who wrote the tickets asked the court to void the citations. (The judge refused.)

It turns out that Goore, whose license has reportedly been suspended 10 times, had paid a fine and a fee to restore his driving privileges. His status had not been updated in the state computer system. But Goore didn't renew his van registration until the afternoon after he received the tickets.

It's tempting to ask what the connection is between Farber and traffic violations. Lawmakers criticized Farber's driving record during her attorney general confirmation process. She has incurred 13 moving violations and a related bench warrant. But this latest incident goes beyond getting tickets. It raises questions about judgment and abuse of power. Even if she said nothing, the arrival of the state attorney general — with flashing lights and a state trooper — could intimidate a police officer.

The citizens of New Jersey need to believe the attorney general will enforce the state's laws even-handedly. Thirty-nine other motorists who were stopped at the checkpoint that day were issued tickets. Farber's credibility will be lost if she used her position to give the 40th motorist a break."

It would be nice if the State's A.G. would follow (and obey) the laws, too --- to set an example for all to follow...:v:

Unfortunately, it's true. Bob Ingles has been reporting on this for awhile now...

http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060716/NEWS0301/607160480/1093

I first heard him talk about it on NJ101.5 during the state shutdown...

Too bad, you didn't quote some of the more lurid details from the link, Boyd. If the people of this State, and the people of the nation had any idea to the extent they are being "bilked" by the scoundrels, liars and thieves they voted into office, based on their hollow promises, there would be rioting in the streets!

I, for one, am thoroughly disgusted (and ashamed)!

The "SELLING--OFF" of AMERICA!

The newest "gimmick" of the crooks we have elected to State and national governmint :jd: is the "SELLING--OFF of AMERICA," i.e. her infrastructure (roads, bridges, and who knows what else)...

Chicago has already done it:

http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/news/newjersey/story/6529177p-6379961c.html

Last year, the city sold a 99-year lease on the eight-mile Chicago Skyway for $1.83 billion. The buyer was the same consortium that leased the Indiana Toll Road - Macquarie Infrastructure Group of Sydney, Australia, and Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte of Madrid, Spain.
...Chicago used the money to pay off debt and fund road projects. Skyway tolls rose 50 cents, to $2.50; By 2017, they will reach $5.

To encourage more domestic investment in highways, former Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta made a pitch to Wall Street on May 23.

"The time is now for United States investors - including our financial, construction and engineering institutions - to get involved in transportation investments," said Mineta, who left office July 7.

It will be interesting to see who Mineta goes to work for...

New Jersey also thought of leasing the GSP! It is another, short--term "gimmick" to produce monies to "stuff" the holes in the State's budget left to us by the former governors of this State: Kean, Whitman, "What's--his--face," and McGreevy. ---a short--term gimmick with long--term consequences: How much do YOU think the tolls would rise?

Would your salaries/pensions/savings rise by an amount that would allow you to pay to use the items of infrastructure that were paid for by the tax dollars of the citizenry?

Have the illustrious office holders considered lowering THEIR salaries, as former governor Florio did, and as present governor Corzine is doing, in order to help close the budget gap? I don't think so...

After the infrastructure of this country has been leased to foreign or domestic interests, what will be next? Would the Fed put the IRS up for lease, too...:jeffd:

On: "Bears and Beehives"

In the State of New Jersey there are too many "Bears in charge of publically owned Beehives." "YUMMM!" says the "Bears" as they award themselves and their backers some of that delicious "honey."

See what happens when someone comes along and redelegates one of those "Bear's" responsibilitites...

http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/news/story/6544373p-6394744c.html

...BINGO! The State saves a million dollars! Poor SJTA Bear (SJTA chairman, Frank Spencer) --- he (and his "carpenter ants") will have to go on a diet. :jd:

Attorney General Zulima V. Farber resigned Tuesday after a special investigation concluded she broke three ethics rules while riding to her boyfriend's aid after he was pulled over at a "Click It or Ticket" seat belt checkpoint in Fairview, Bergen County, in May.
