The pit on 72

There were large "stadium" lights in the pit across from coyle field last night. I think I recall Guy saying that they might reactivate the pit. This was some time ago that I recall Guy saying that. Could be that is becoming reality. Why they would be working at night I don't know

The pit reactivating is in the woods where you can't see from 72. That property you are speaking of is state property. I noticed on the way to the clean-up there was something going on there. The newspaper article I posted said it was going to be for the bomb squad to detonate bombs. A man I work with was filling the planes with water at Coyle Field for the recent fire, and when I mentioned something was going on across 72 with the bomb squad he told me that they are detonated at Coyle Field proper. So there is some confusion on my part what really is happening there. I tend to think the newspaper article was correct and the lights you saw may be for them to see what they are doing when detonating bombs.

thanks for the insight Guy. I now know the correct pit that you were referring to previously. That would be a shame if they reactivated that because nature is reclaiming that pit quick. It is actually a very lonely "thinking" spot now. Lets not post the location of that pit. It's on private property anyway. (not that I would think that you would)

That's a staging area for the contractor doing the night construction on 72.

I take that drive every day and I was wondering the same thing. Twice a week I work OT and 2 Tuesdays ago is when I noticed the 'stadium lights' lighting up the pines. It does correspond with the milling they are doing on 72.
