The Sleeper; a kayaking adventure

Jeff, I remember looking at that section of the river on our Rockwood hike. It is so unlike the rest of the Sleeper it appears to be to have been modified by man. It's just too neat. Deep wide and straight banks. What do you think?

Ed, that section of the stream has been greatly modified by man, though I don't think any significant rechannelization has occurred.

Actually, it does look like there is a straight stretch at the Wescoat bogs that looks like rechannelization.

edit: On third thought, the 1930 aerial photos show no sign of of man having ever changed the course of the stream.
