Egg Harbor Township cut the ribbon on its new Nature Reserve this fall, marking the rebirth of the former sandpit once described by a judge as “a scar on the landscape.”
But it’s not the first time the township turned an unappealing industrial property into something people can enjoy.
The Nature Reserve is about two miles from McCullough’s Emerald Links, a township-owned golf course that sits atop an 80-year-old landfill.
