Went looking for some pygmy pine vista's, but found none. Got up to Bear Swamp Hill and Cody nosed around

First at the tower and then the outhouse. Those pits should really be filled :)

Didn't have much time to explore, had lunch near the bogs and headed home stopping at the Oswego Lake Preserve. Broke some ice getting down the road, easy to find and a really nice spot. Will have to bring the Hornbeck down there for some paddling. A lot of broken glass near the dock, not the best for a pooch's pads, but there is no easy way to clean that up.

Would be a great spot for an ice boat.

A short, but nice, winters day, quite a few folks out.

46er,

Thank you for the glimpse into your day.

If you want to see the pygmy pines, go south on 539 to the bombing range and go where we did today behind the pond. Look for bombing Range Road with a large rock along the road. Drive up the road to the pond. Just don't go past the gate and stay off the area's that are marked for you stay off of. You would be hard pressed to find any pines smaller than that.

Nice report and pics. I used to love hanging out on the dock by the cabin back there. I wanted to buy that cabin. I understand why they had to take it down though.
