I sure hope they leave the farmers alone as a whole. Also bee keepers have their hives out all over the place. I have seen severe damage to farmers equipment and crops in the Carolina's.

The black bear just crossed in front of me as I was heading 206 southbound. Right before the Columbus exit. It was heading east.

I somewhat agree. It is nice to note and be enthusiasctic about what is still a fairly rare occurance in the southern part of the state, but it's certainly nothing to get worked up about. In the northern part of the state a bear crossing the road gets about as much concern as a squirrel does.
