Does anyone know what these be? The second one appears to be a tall type of dandelion.both were growing along side a dirt road through oak/pine woods. The road is closed off during summer.A lot of yellow cinqefoil and blackberry growing around it.A small purple flower I took a pic of growing out of a grass like plant but it came out pretty blurry so i didn't post that one.I was recording bird calls with the camera video option and figgered I'd snap some unknown flowers too.Birds recorded were Indigo Bunting,Rose Breasted Grosbeak.Tufted Titmouse,Wood Thrush and Prairie Warbler.Oh yes Ovenbird and Towhees too.

the dwarf dandelion I see on Google images, when i look for frostweed I do see the plant I have but there is also another plant named frostweed which has small white flowers and exudes sap from it's stem and looks like it's covered with a rime of ice, definitely not my plant.I see the disadvantage of common names here but I am no big fan of latin.I think we should rename all of the animal and plant kingdoms in Scots Gaelic,or maybe Welsh.

Man, google Halianthemum canadense or check the index of plants on Mike Baker's site, that will be the Frostweed you are seeing.:)
