Did you hear/feel it? I was outside in the woods and there were multiple examples of this sometime between 3 to 5 PM. Thought it was very weird at the time, not like a sonic boom, it was an extended very low frequency rumbling that lasted a number of seconds each time. Really could not relate it to anything I'd heard before, but ultimately dismissed it as distant thunder since there were gathering clouds.

Now, I see it made the news in multiple places, here are a couple articles:

I felt something. I actually thought the wind was ripping my back deck off the house but when I immediately looked outside the trees were not moving much. Figured it was just a huge gust that I missed seeing. One time and probably around 4pm since I was still home alone...

Definitely not the wind, since I was outside. It reminded me of Mark's posts from 2013 - that is exactly how I would describe this event - 12 years later!

An extended series of low-frequency rumbles seemed to emanate from the Delmarva Peninsula's direction. There was no ground shaking like during the earthquake. It was an atmospheric phenomenon. This seems to be the only place on the net talking about the boom.

The thundering noise rumbled for at least 15 seconds with several sharp rapports, each less loud than the first.

Must have been too far away to hear this one. It seems like these must happen at least a few times a year. I posted a thread about an occurrence in 2023.

Maybe, but what I (and others, apparently) heard was definitely earlier than 6:00 PM...

Exactly what I experienced. I even did a full walk around the house. I was puzzled, so just let it go.
