What is this?

Just this past week these showed up all along the White Horse Pike at most intersections. Anyone? The top has a sensor of some sort.

I don't think so. It looks like a small bull horn or spot light and is flat in the front with no lens. It may measure traffic flow somehow.

They are planning adaptive signal systems on that route..Perhaps this is a prelude to that?

Went by it today and Jess took a close up. It is a Scout Traffic Monitoring system. You can see it in this video.

Jessica said can also collect you license's plate number as well as your traffic patterns.

And as fast as they went up they are gone.

Haven't noticed any improvement, and sure wish they would fix the sensor at Taunton & 30.
It's been cycling for no reason all summer long.
