Impressed with what looks like 4 side windows and 2 wings each side

My guess is a 1942 Ford Sedan based on the grille. Black license plates went from 1941 to 1944, then 1949, 51, 52 and 53.

I was wondering when the New Jersey yellow and blue plates were issued.

Ed. If you are talking about the plates with the blue background, they ran from 1979 to 1992.
