Whats up with the opossums?

Seen alot of "roadkill" possums here on LI. Perhaps the wet, mild weather has something to do with it?

I have def seen an unusual amount of dead ones on rt. 55 down to cumberland county. Not sure why this would be, but I have noticed that both raccoons and possums are much more active during rainy nights. I have my spy cam in my backyard and both animals are regularly captured during heavy rainy nights. And we def received a ton of rain from spring on so that may be the reason, like LI piney said.
