The remains of the Shiloh Gun Club. Route 532 halfway between Tabernacle and Chatsworth. Built in 1946 on the site of the old White Horse Tavern. Private property.
On May 24, 1922 Stanley K. Heilbron sold it to Constant LeDuc and his wife Marie but it appears they had originally sold it to him. However, sometimes it is sold that way to remove a name from the deed. I have not gone back further than that as of yet to find out.
Constant died in 1924 and Marie passed it on to Albert B. LeDuc July 22. 1924.
On 9/3/1946 Albert and Maude B. LeDuc sold it to the Shiloh Deer Club, Inc.
On July 6, 1979 the Shiloh Deer Club mortgaged it to Johann and Jane Estella Jaegers for $7,500 with entered at the rate of 9 1/2 percent payable in 5 years with 60 installments $157.52. I can remember going by the place around this time and 25 or so people were out there working around the building. At this point the building was still in clear view and the Shiloh Sign clearly visible. I am not certain but it appears that on July 27, 1981 they payed it off and fully acquired it. Oriental should know more about that.
Eventually the South Park hunting Club acquired it and made a 30 foot parking easement though the property and then a pedestrian easement to all adjoining property owned by South Park so that they had access to their other land. And they then sold it to the man in the house next door just west of the property.
Sorry, I am rushing this and don't have time to get all the other info I have on the place.
