WHO’LL STOP THIS PAIN?
[parody of Credence Clearwater Revival’s WHO’LL STOP THE RAIN?]

I went to the Pine Barrens
And walked out on a frozen bog
Surrounded by woods and frozen water
I watched the towers, grown
My wilderness plan’s not new to you
Rope off lands with golden chains
And I wonder
Still I wonder
Who’ll stop this pain?

Here’s the thing I’m saying
I don’t want roads that go to the shore
On this bog we’re crowded and locked together
By a road away a mile or more
The towers are a tell tale sign
Of an intrusion of the Garden State Parkway
And I wonder
Still I wonder
Who’ll stop this pain?

Running through snake country
They’re putting a road, a corridor
Who cares if folks are crowded and locked together?
And trying to flee a storm
My wilderness plan’s not new to you
Rope off lands with golden chains
And I wonder, still I wonder
Who’ll stop this pain?

Here’s the thing I’m saying
I want humans to use land nevermore
In traffic crowded and locked together
I want all land to be forlorn
My wilderness plan’s not new to you
Rope off lands with golden chains
And I wonder, still I wonder
Who’ll stop this pain?

I heard about Seneca
High School in Tabernacle
Building a school is evil
I can watch education levels grow
Invading the Pine Barrens
Armies of fire fighters
Cranberry/blueberry growers too
And I wonder, still I wonder
Who’ll stop this pain?
And I wonder, still I wonder
Who’ll stop this pain?
Who’ll stop this pain…
