I'm thinking by the way this is written you can't be in these areas until after 9/15 regardless. So no driving, dragging or throwing your kayak into MenanticoThe dirtbike riders (lots from over the bridge) are a real problem in some areas. So are the partiers who leave piles of trash. Instead of stepping up enforcement and hiring additional conservation officers to patrol the areas, their solution is to close it to everyone. How typically NJ.
Menantico Ponds is one of my favorite places. I guess I'll just have to start parking on the other side by Wade Blvd. Won't be able to bring my kayak in by car though.
The pit is commonly called 539 pit, lately the yellow gates to access the 2 roads to the pit have been closed. Guy, did you notice if they were still closed when you were out there last week? They basically closed off Hidden Lakes, and the sand pit near Howardsville.
Its the same thing they did in Wharton with quarter mile with one major difference. They are using the roads as boundaries to call out the area, the difference is these areas are now posted "closed to public access" which means to me no one is to be within the boundary that is set for any reason. In Wharton the area was closed to motor vehicle traffic only. That just seems so wrong.
